Day 21, September 7, 2002.

7:30 out of bed, nice breakfast and then to the beach, about 50 m from the camper. We had a swim in the sea (it's freezing according to the Australians) we liked it. On a certain moment Ittie discovered a fish who was watching us all the time. After I swallowed half a liter of sea water ( my snorkel got under water) We have been sunning on the beach. Later we walked to a lookout on the beach. At 12 o'clock we went to the city again because we thought there was a marked. There wasn't. we did some grocery's and on our way back we saw a bride with two bridesmaid's, Ittie asked "where is the man", in Australia the man can't see the bride before they are in the church. There are lots of hippies and tramps in Byron bay, a very nice place, also on the camping a lot of hippies with beautiful painted van's.

Day 22, September 8, 2002

This morning we left at 9 o'clock in the direction of Coffs Harbour. We tried three times a tourist route but when we left the Highway the signs were gone so we lost. One time we came back on the highway just 200 m further then where we left it after an our driving, but we had nice views. The last tourist route we had, we came back on the highway en we were past Grafton, we left the highway 20 km before Grafton and we thought we drove back, this was a surprise. We had accidentally cut a piece of the route. Eventually we arrived in Coffs Harbour and found a camping on walking distance of a shopping center, but most of the shops were closed. We bought a bottle of whiskey by a bottle and went back to the camper.
