Day 3, Saturday 16 September, 2006.

We woke up at 9 in the morning en got straight out of bed because Hans and Maria Louise wanted to take us for a ride with their ca ridge and the horses. Hans was already harness the horses. We had a quick breakfast end then we go. It was a great tour, you see a different site of Tirol on this way, through the woods end small villages. Very relaxing. Hans had to buy a pack of cigarettes in a small shop from Josef . Ittie said let me get it for you and was flirting with the man, Josef wanted to make a picture with Ittie and when they were posing she said, his hand is on my ass already. We made the picture en moved on, at an open spot in the woods we had a picnic and the horses an apple. We have seen a lot, made a lot of pictures and film, it's a beautifully country. Hans is getting his horse drivers licence and this was a nice training for his exam. The last part up the mountain we drove with Maria Louise in the car to spare the horses, otherwise they sweat when they're up. Ittie made a delicious pan of spagetty. Maria Louise's boss came to visit and eat with us, it has been a great day.

Day 4, Sunday 17 September, 2006

Sunday morning I have been looking in the power plant with Hans again, I keep being impressed those water powered turbines from 1932, they work 1000 rpm non stop from 1932 till now. The water is collected in the mountains from different places and led into one basin from where a pipe leads it to the power plant, with a pressure of 19 bar. Here it's sprayed to the spoons of the turbines, the speed kept at 1000 rpm automatically, this has to do with the frequents of 50 Hz. I had a lot more questions but Hans could not answer them, he called his chef from the council hwo would come this afternoon to tell me more about it. Hans had to go up the mountain to clean the grids in front of the bassin's. In the autum leafes are falling from the trees and block the grid so the water pressure gets to low. We went with him ofcourse, climbing throug the mountains and woods (see pictures). There are different springs, the water from those springs is led by streams and pipes and bassins (to sink stones and sand) to one big bassin from where it goes down to the plant. After Hans cleaned the grids the water pressure was 19 bar again when we came down.

After we came back we went to see Pa Hangl, the dad of Maria Louise, he has demention as a result of a stroke and is staying in an old peoples home. I think he recognized us still. We think he has a great time there, he even has a girlfriend. The girlfriend is still married and her man is visiting regularly, but she does not remember him anymore and is sitting hand in hand with pa Hangl. It's a pity for her husband but what can you do, demention is a strange decease. We ha a nice chat and a beer.

We left there and Ittie wanted to visit Rosa, she stayed on her farm when she was in Austria in 1980 with the kids and her husbant. Rosa opend the door but she could not remember Ittie, we think she liked the visit, we were alowed to take a look upstairs to the bedroom where they were sleeping in 1980 and there was noting changed sinds then, same closets, same beds, same bad. Ittie was touched. I made a view nice pictures, Rosa has a boiler where you have to put a woodfire inside to warm the water, never seen that before. We made a picture of Ittie and Rosa and went back to the house. Maria Louise made Austrian schnitsels, delicious. Hans his chef dit not apear, it's a shame, I had a lot of questions for him, mabey next year. Tomorow we move on to Italy.
